Treasure Hunter

... an interactive way to dig for virtual treasure in your backyard

Short Treasure Hunter demonstration.

Treasure Hunter turns your backyard, local park, or football field into a virtual treasure hunt! Mark the corners of the area you want to search. Treasure Hunter will randomly place over 190 virtual objects. As you run around the area, shake your device to dig a virtual hole and discover the riches buried underfoot. The first person to find all the treasure -- wins!

Treasure Hunter uses your device's GPS to find your location on Earth -- but maps this to your tiny hand-held device screen. How does Treasure Hunter do that? Warning: Java code in Android Studio ahead. Proceed with caution.

Treasure Hunter also uses your device's accelerometer to deside if you are digging for treasure (shaking the device). How does Treasure Hunter do that? Warning: Java code in Android Studio ahead. Proceed with caution.

And, finally, an overview the the basic Treasure Hunter features and functionality and the code to make it all happen. Final Warning: Java code in Android Studio ahead. Proceed with caution.
